What is a HATWALK full day workshop?
We start with a short entertaining talk to inspire the students about what's possible, with some 'hat history', anecdotes and news about the contemporary hat scene. We can usually offer 2 milliners for each workshop, who bring a mobile library of millinery books (many of which are now out of print) which are a great inspirational resource. Of course we also bring a range of hat designs for the students to try on and see how they are made.
We encourage the students to have completed some preliminary work with their teachers on ideas/designs about their hats. This enables us to really help and support the vision that the students have.
How many children can participate?
We aim for a group of 20 students, depending on the support and help from the schools/colleges.
